Dr. Daniela Apaydin is a Vienna-based researcher, science communicator and journalist with more than 15 years of professional experience in journalism, PR and project management. She studied Journalism and Corporate Communications in Graz and St. Petersburg and holds an MA in Central European Studies and a PhD in History from Andrássy University Budapest.
Field of expertise
Her research and public commentary focus on the political and societal transformation of Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Hungary. She specialises in civil society, democratisation, cross-border cooperation, environmental movements and protest cultures, and is a frequent commentator on political developments and regional affairs in the media. In the field of science communication, she works at the intersection of cultural heritage and digital transformation, fostering collaboration between researchers, cultural institutions and the public. Her work focuses on making cultural heritage data, digital innovation and research outcomes accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.
