Daniela Apaydin is a researcher and journalist based in Vienna. She has been the Head of Publishing and editor-in-chief of the magazine "Info Europa" at the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) in Vienna since 2018. Previously, she worked for more than 15 years in the fields of media and communications, particularly in the areas of online journalism, science communication and project management. Daniela studied Journalism and Corporate Communications in Graz and St. Petersburg. She obtained a postgraduate Master in Central European Studies from Andrássy University Budapest, where she also did her PhD in History.
Her fields of expertise include the political and societal transformation of Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe, in particular Hungary. She is interested in issues of cross-border cooperation, democratisation as well as environmentalism and protest culture. Daniela regularly comments on domestic and foreign policy issues for media.
